//San Francisco · A web design agency
A web design agency serving San Franciscothat starts with what is actually broken.
Most site rebuilds are sold before anyone checks whether the site is the problem. We look at what your current pages actually do with the traffic they get, what the analytics can prove and what they cannot. Sometimes the answer is a rebuild. Often it is four fixes and a clearer offer.
Work directly with our founders. No account-manager handoff.
Already operating? You are in the right place.
We work best with businesses that have customers, a real offer and a marketing budget set aside. Still forming the company, or looking for no-cost startup help? Use our free San Francisco startup guide instead. It is the better starting point and it costs nothing.
Why the credibility bar is higher in San Francisco.
San Francisco holds a global technology and finance economy, a heavy tourism trade and a dense neighborhood business culture inside seven square miles. It is also one of the most expensive places in the country to operate, and that shapes what visitors expect before they will contact anyone.
The practical effect on a website is that buyers here decide fast and are quick to discount. A slow page, a vague description of what you actually do, or proof that cannot be checked will lose a visitor who has three other tabs open. That is not a design problem in the visual sense. It is a clarity and evidence problem, and it is why an expensive redesign so often produces the same conversion rate as the site it replaced.
What we would look at first.
- 1Are the right people finding you?Search, maps and paid placement for the terms that carry buying intent, not the ones that only carry volume.
- 2Are you paying for the right demand?Spend against what converts, and an honest look at the demand you are buying that was never going to.
- 3Does the site finish the job?The offer, the proof and the next step, on the page the traffic actually lands on.
- 4Can the owner tell what worked?Calls, forms and bookings traced back far enough to make the next budget decision defensible.
Already have an agency? Good. Bring the report.
We will tell you what looks healthy, what we cannot verify and where we would look first. If the current setup makes sense, we will say that too. You do not have to fire anyone to get a second read.
Work you can check.
These are our clients, not San Francisco clients. Every number on them is published on the study itself, so you can read the whole engagement rather than a highlight.
What we would most likely run for San Francisco.
Founders stay.
The people you meet stay on the account. There is no sales handoff and no junior takeover after the contract is signed.
Yours to keep.
Accounts, domains, ad platforms and content are in your name. If we part ways you keep all of it.
Month to month.
No annual lock-in. We would rather keep the work worth renewing than hold you to a term.
//Common questions
What San Francisco owners ask us first.
Are you actually local to San Francisco?
No. Mining Wells is based in Irvine and serves San Francisco businesses from there. Design and build work happens over calls and shared files either way. We will not list a San Francisco address we do not have.
Do I actually need a rebuild?
Often not. That is the first thing we work out, and we will tell you when the honest answer is that your site is fine and the problem is the offer, the traffic or the tracking. We would rather say that than sell a project that will not move the number.
Who owns the site when we are done?
You do. The code, the content, the domain and the hosting are all in your name. There is no proprietary platform holding your site hostage and no rebuild fee if you leave.
How do you price?
After we have seen the current site and agreed what actually needs to change. Ongoing work is month to month with no annual lock-in.
Can you guarantee a conversion rate?
No. We can tell you what is measurably broken now, what we would change first and how we would know whether it worked. Anyone quoting you a guaranteed conversion rate before seeing your traffic is guessing.
Get my free marketing plan.
Tell us about the business and where the marketing is getting stuck. We will write you a plan for it, free, and tell you honestly if we are not the right people to run it.
No cost. No obligation. No pitch if it is not a fit.
