//Marketing for startups

A marketing agency for startups, led by founders.

A digital marketing agency for startups should not hand you a preset launch package. Jessica and Ben look at the customer, product, business goal, current evidence and budget available to act. Then we put the priorities in order and agree on the work Mining Wells will handle.

Talk to our founders

Starts with a short conversation with our founders. No cost. No obligation.

For operating startups and funded launches ready to invest in marketing.

//The next goal

Start with the next business goal.

You may be preparing to launch, trying to reach more of the right buyers or improving how existing interest turns into sales. We look at what is happening before recommending the work.

//What you get

What a startup marketing engagement can include.

Messaging, brand, search, advertising, the website and email can each have a part to play. We agree on the priorities, responsibilities and cost before work starts. A service does not belong in the plan simply because we offer it.

  • Growth consulting & plan

    Can include a written plan: who to win, why they pick you and what to run first.

  • Messaging & positioning

    Can include the problem you solve, who it is for and why a buyer should care.

  • Brand & website

    Can include brand identity and a website that belong together, scoped to what needs to be ready now.

  • Search & AI search

    Can include SEO, content and AI search optimization for the searches your buyers run.

  • Paid acquisition

    Can include Google, Meta or LinkedIn ads when paid demand makes economic sense for the offer.

  • Measurement & handoff

    Can include tracking set up before spend starts, and routing so each inquiry reaches the right person.

//What is usually broken

Where startup marketing usually gets expensive.

01

Too many channels before the offer is clear.

02

The site explains features but not why the buyer should care.

03

Acquisition starts before measurement is ready.

04

The team keeps adding activity without deciding what success means.

//Before we recommend

What should we understand before we recommend anything?

Four questions give our founders useful context. They do not generate an automatic prescription.

//Common questions

Things we get asked first.

What is product-market fit?

Y Combinator describes product-market fit as the point where real market pull is obvious in customer demand or usage. Funding, headcount or a polished launch are not substitutes for that demand.

What is customer acquisition cost?

Customer acquisition cost, or CAC, is commonly framed as acquisition spending divided by customers acquired. Harvard Business School notes that the useful calculation depends on what costs and customers belong in the numerator and denominator.

Does Google need every exact keyword variation on a page?

No. Google says its language systems can understand how a page relates to many queries even when every exact variation is not written on the page. Use the words people search for, but keep the copy natural.
