//Definitions
Every acronym on this page, defined.
Our industry hides behind initials. Here is what each one means, in a sentence, with a link to the people who own the term so you can check us.
The federal law that sets the rules for protecting patient health information. It governs who may see that information, how it is stored and shared, and what has to happen when it is exposed. It applies to your practice, and it reaches any vendor who handles that data on your behalf.
Source: U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: HIPAAHealth information that can be tied back to a specific person, including the obvious identifiers and the less obvious ones like an appointment date or an IP address paired with a treatment page. It is the category of data that decides whether an ordinary marketing tool is safe to point at a page.
Source: HHS: individually identifiable health informationThe contract a practice signs with any vendor that will handle protected health information on its behalf. It makes the vendor directly accountable under HIPAA rather than merely adjacent to the problem. We sign one.
Source: HHS: business associate contractsThe system holding the clinical chart. An EMR is the record inside one practice; an EHR is built to travel between providers. Most practices run one of these alongside a separate scheduling platform, and the gap between the two is usually where marketing attribution goes dark.
Source: HealthIT.gov: EMR versus EHRYou only pay when somebody clicks your ad, not when it is shown. Google calls the same thing cost per click, and the price you actually pay is usually less than the maximum you set.
Source: Google Ads Help: cost per clickThe amount one click costs you. It moves with competition and with how relevant your ad and landing page are, which is why the same click can cost a competitor more than it costs you.
Source: Google Ads Help: cost per clickClicks divided by the number of times an ad or a listing was shown. It is the honest read on whether your message is worth clicking, separate from how big your budget is.
Source: Google Ads Help: click-through rateEverything that puts you on a search results page, paid and organic together. Most agencies use it to mean paid search only. We use it the broad way, because the two halves should be planned as one.
Source: Google Search Central: how Search worksEarning your place in the unpaid results. Google publishes its own starter guide, and the short version is that you make the site easy to crawl, useful to a reader, and clearly about the thing people are searching for.
Source: Google Search Central: SEO starter guideBeing cited inside an AI answer instead of a list of blue links. The term comes from a 2024 research paper at the ACM SIGKDD conference, which studied what makes a generative engine quote one source over another.
Source: Aggarwal et al., GEO: Generative Engine Optimization, KDD 2024Being the direct answer to a question, in a featured snippet, a voice result or an AI Overview. Google documents how its AI features choose and link the pages they surface.
Source: Google Search Central: AI features and your websiteGetting more customers out of the visitors you already have, by fixing the message and removing friction. A conversion is simply the action you want: a call, a form, a booking, a purchase.
Source: Google Ads Help: conversionsGoogle's listings above the map for service businesses, with the Google Verified badge. You pass a background and license check, and you pay per lead rather than per click.
Source: Google Ads Help: Local Services AdsThe free listing that shows your business on Google Maps and in the local results, with your hours, photos, services and reviews. For most local businesses more people see it than see the website.
Source: Google Business Profile HelpA USPS service that delivers your piece to every address on the postal carrier routes you choose, with no mailing list to buy. You pick the neighborhoods, and the postage is a fraction of first-class.

//Why work with us
The honest version, on purpose.
We start from first principles
No recycled playbook. We find the lowest-friction, highest-yield plays for your business, then prove them with rapid experiments before scaling what works.
Senior operators on every account
Senior operators do the actual work, not a junior following a template. Real attention is the expensive ingredient nobody can automate.
No guarantees we cannot keep
No promised rankings, no fixed lead counts. Anyone selling those is selling fiction. We promise clear work, honest reporting, and accountability.
Everything you pay for stays yours
Accounts, data, content, and code stay in your name. If we part ways, your assets come with you.
Want this for your business?
This is how we work.
If it sounds like the way you would want it done, the next step is a ten-minute conversation with a founder.

//Common questions
Things we get asked first.
Do I have to buy all of these?
No. And you should not have to figure out which ones you need, that is our job. We diagnose what is actually holding back your growth, prescribe the one or two services that fix it, and add more only when the math justifies it. Most clients are surprised by where we tell them to start.
What are your contract terms?
Our monthly partnerships run on a simple month-to-month agreement, earned on results, so you are not locked into a long-term commitment. Website builds are project-based. Either way, all your accounts and assets stay yours.
What makes you different from other agencies?
Two things. We work from first principles, hunting for the lowest-friction, highest-yield plays for your business instead of running a recycled playbook. And we are honest: no promised results nobody can guarantee, metrics that tie to revenue, everything you pay for stays in your name, and senior operators on every account. It is not flashy, and it is exactly why the work holds up.
How do I know which service I need?
Send us a message. We will diagnose what is actually broken and tell you which service, if any, is the right next dollar, whether you hire us or not.
